Dr Xin Dong is an Associate Professor and the robotics lead at Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre at University of Nottingham. Xin has interests in design and modelling of continuum/soft robotics, walking robots and parallel kinematics mechanism. He participated a range of EPSRC, Innovate UK projects as principal investigator and co- investigator to develop robots for inspection, maintenance, and repair operations in confined spaces with industrial partners, including Rolls-Royce, RACE and Dounreay Site Restoration Ltd. He was in the winner team of the Engineer Collaborate to Innovate (C2I) Award in manufacturing technology in 2022.
