Port of Tyne completes P-CAL autonomous logistics trial
The P-CAL project has shown a self-driving terminal tractor moving containers on a live quayside at the Port of Tyne.
Using Oxa's self-driving software, the vehicle was integrated with terminal operating systems and synchronised with crane activity. Led by the North East Automotive Alliance with partners including Nissan and LOGISTEED UK, the project was part of the government's £150m CAM Pathfinder programme.
